The MHOB Program was developed during the COVID-19 pandemic in response to the difficulty people were experiencing accessing health care and social supports. The MHOB Program brought primary care and social services into the community, directly to the people who needed them most. Since then, the MHOB Program has adapted and expanded with the support of grants, donations, and in kind supports from our community partners.
Today, our Mobile Health Outreach Bus program attends several communities within Oxford County each month, including Woodstock, Ingersoll & Tillsonburg. MHOB supports are tailored to each community’s unique needs. Each month, we create a calendar outlining the MHOB schedule, including dates, times, locations, and the organizations participating. Click the graphic on the right to see this month’s calendar.
MHOB provides people with items that have been donated, e.g. snacks, sleeping bags/mats, hat & mitts, hygiene supplies, etc. We also assist people with completing forms and support those who are homeless with getting ID. MHOB provides non-judgmental supports to individuals in the “right here, right now” wherever they may be physically or along their personal journey. Additionally, our Primary Care Nurses provide wound care, support with acute/episodic medical conditions, and can prescribe certain medications and order certain medical tests.
The MHOB program aims to support individuals who are homeless, precariously housed, those who lack access to primary care or feel unsafe accessing traditional primary care. Reach out by finding us in community, or by calling or texting (226) 232-8207.
