Oxford County Public Health is doing research about what makes it easy and what makes it hard for people to access opioid-related services. We’re looking for people who use or take opioids, friends and family of people who use or take opioids and people who may use opioids in the future. Opioids can be legal or illegal drugs like fentanyl, heroin, methadone, codeine and hydromorph.
If you want to share your experiences of finding and using services in Oxford County in an interview, please contact Laura Gibbs at 519-539-9800 ext. 3516 or healthevidence@oxfordcounty.ca. Call to Action: On April 6, the Canadian Association of Community Health Centres wrote to Prime Minister Trudeau and key cabinet ministers with recommendations on the mandate and composition of the forthcoming Advisory Council on Implementation of National Pharmacare.
We are asking everyone to communicate these core recommendations to your local MP as well and for them to bring them forward to Prime Minister Trudeau and the federal government.
Visit the Canadian Association of Community Health Centres for more information on this and other advocacy initiatives.

While we are sad to see our friend Gus the Bus leave us, we are thrilled to welcome his accessible cousin Russ to the health centre team.
Russ the Bus is a brand-new fully accessible bus that, like Gus, will take our CHC clients to medical appointments across southwestern Ontario.
Russ (driven by Phil, our volunteer driver – above) can take up to 9 passengers or carry up to 4 wheelchairs. We are all very excited to have Russ join the team, so we can provide more services to the community.
If you have any questions about our transportation program, please email Trevor.
Mental health care for Ontario children and youth face a series of challenges including program cuts due to chronic under funding; skyrocketing hospitalization rates; and, long waiting lists for treatment that continue to grow.
As many as 5 out of 6 kids with mental health issues don’t get the treatment they need.
Let’s make Ontario a better place for families by prioritizing child and youth mental health.
